A Few Things to Consider

  • Graduate-level courses cannot be taken as a guest student.
  • Guest students are not eligible for financial assistance.
  • Some courses have prerequisites, so you may need departmental consent to take certain courses at KCAD as a guest student.
  • If you're currently attending another accredited college or university in Michigan, you may be eligible to attend KCAD for a semester as a guest student. Talk to your college or university, and then call us to discuss your plans.

How to Apply - Guest Students

KCAD reviews applications on a rolling basis, which means we don’t have an application deadline. As a guest student, you apply using our undergraduate application.

1. Complete the online application

  • Apply online through our application portal. You'll need to create a login and password.
  • In the "Program" section of the application, be sure to check the box for "Guest Student."

2. Have your official college transcripts sent to KCAD (if required)

If you have attended a college(s) previously, you may be required to submit official transcripts from all college(s) previously attended. After reviewing your application, our Admissions team will reach out to notify you if you need to submit official transcripts.

If you do need to submit official transcripts, have your college(s) send them to:
