An interviewwith KCAD is required as part of the admission decision process. Upon receipt of your
complete application, KCAD will contact you to schedule an interview.
Students on the articulated degree pathway from the B.S.E. in Interdisciplinary Engineering
program at Grand Valley State University (GVSU) should apply for provisional admission
to the KCAD Master of Architecture program during their 4th semester of study at GVSU.
For provisional admissions consideration to the Master of Architecture program, applicants
should complete the steps below:
Ensure that the following criteria is met:
Undergraduate GPA of 2.7 or higher
Completion of all GVSU course requirements stated in the first two years of the articulated degree pathway
Submit unofficial GVSU transctipts through one of the following methods:
Upload unofficial transcripts to online application portal (applicants will be prompted
to do so)
Have GVSU Registrar email unofficial transcripts to [email protected]
NOTE: Once provisional admission into the KCAD Master of Architecture program has been granted,
students will then need to apply for full admission to the program during the 7th
semester of the articulated degree pathway. Eligible students will receive regular communications from KCAD Admissions regarding
how and when to apply for full admission.
The successful candidate to the Master of Arts in Design program will have established themselves professionally prior to entering the program. Professional
experience may include professional internships; work, military or non-profit experience;
community service; or other career-related activities.
For admissions consideration to the Master of Arts in Design program, applicants should
complete the following:
Official Transcriptsfrom all institutions of higher education previously attended. Transcript must show
the completion of an undergraduate degree in design from a regionally-accredited institution
of higher education, with a minimum GPA of 3.00. Official transcripts must be sent
directly to the College by the institution.

In order to receive priority consideration for graduate fellowships, graduate assistantships,
or scholarships, applicants to KCAD graduate programs must apply and submit all required
application materials by the following priority application deadlines:
Spring 2023 semester applicants: October 15, 2022
Fall 2023 semester applicants: January 15, 2023
KCAD encourages outstanding candidates to apply at all times. KCAD will accept and
consider applications after the priority deadlines; however, applicants may not receive
consideration for graduate fellowships, graduate assistantships, or scholarships after
priority deadline dates.
