Interior Design Alum Wins 2017 Tulip Time Festival Poster Competition

Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University (KCAD) alumna Michele Gort (’00, BFA Interior Design) has won the 2017 Tulip Time Festival Poster Competition with her painting “Playful Time.”
Each year through a juried process, a work of art is chosen to be the official poster for the storied Holland, Mich.-based event, held annually since 1929. This year, 55 artists from around West Michigan submitted a total of 108 pieces for consideration.

“Playful Time” and 19 other pieces named as finalists in the competition will be on display at the Holland Area Arts Council from May 6 through May 13, 2017. Gort’s piece will be featured on posters, giclee prints, and other Tulip Time Festival merchandise. This year’s festival runs from May 6 through May 14.
