High school students passionate about art and design can get a head start on their creative education this spring through Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University’s Dual Enrollment program.

Registration is now open for Spring 2024 Dual Enrollment courses spanning a range of creative topics like design concepts, color theory, drawing, object making, product design, and more.

KCAD Dual Enrollment courses can be used to earn both high school and college credit, enabling students and their families to get ahead financially for college and complete their college degree sooner. These courses are offered at a reduced tuition rate, with potential additional tuition support through the State of Michigan - State School Aid Act, making it an accessible option for aspiring creatives.

"We are thrilled to offer these enriching opportunities for the next generation of artists and designers” said Tara McCrackin, KCAD President. “Our Dual Enrollment program not only provides college-level curriculum and culture, but also helps students develop their skills and portfolio."

High school dual enrollment students gain access to KCAD’s dynamic studio facilities, resources, and expert instruction. Courses are scheduled for 15 weeks during the Spring and Fall semesters and will be conducted in-person on the college’s campus in downtown Grand Rapids.

Dual enrollment students have the opportunity to enroll in freshmen and sometimes sophomore level KCAD courses, tailored to fit individual needs, schedules, and future goals. High school guidance counselors are also available to assist students with enrollment inquiries.

Enrollment application materials for the Spring 2024 semester must be received by 5:00pm on Friday, Jan. 6, 2024. In addition to the application, official high school transcripts are required for consideration. Interested students can begin the application process by visiting kcad.edu/dualenrollment
