Kendall to Be a Venue for Art.Downtown Event

On Friday April 16th from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Kendall will participate in Art.Downtown.

Art.Downtown will feature over 300 artists exhibiting their work at 25 independently curated sites throughout the downtown area. The work featured will include local and regional artists as well as student work from seven state colleges and universities, including Kendall, under the guidance of their faculty mentors. Institutional participants and sponsors include Kendall, Grand Rapids Art Museum, Urban Institute of Contemporary Art, West Michigan Center for Art & Technology, Grand Rapids Public Museum, Downtown Alliance, and Dwelling Place of Grand Rapids.

Now in its eighth year, Art.Downtown is an event designed to highlight Grand Rapids ?? creative community. Co-organizer Paul Amenta is an adjunct instructor at Kendall and originator of ActiveSite. Amenta and his ActiveSite crew will be curating the old Public Museum on Jefferson Street.

The event is designed to be family friendly, and attendees are encouraged to find a parking spot and walk or ride the route as this year's event will include seven trolley stops that hit all of the major areas of activity.
