News Bites: Art Education Professor, MFA Painting Student Included in Juried Exhibition

Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University (KCAD) Art Education Associate Professor Donna St. John and MFA Painting student Chakila Hoskins were both included in the recent 43rd Annual Celebration of the Arts juried exhibition at First United Methodist Church in Grand Rapids.

St. John, who also earned her MFA in Painting from KCAD in the spring of 2015, had two pieces included, “Rita Levi Montalcini” and “Mahatma Ghandi,” both of which are mixed media installations. “Mahatma Ghandi” was named an honorable mention by the juror Mark E. Mehaffey.

The Celebration of the Arts juried exhibition is considered one of the largest sacred exhibitions in the country and this year included artists from all over the Midwest United States working in a variety of media.
