News Bites: Chair of Fashion Studies Program Wins Statewide Garment Design Competition

Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University (KCAD) Fashion Studies Assistant Professor and Program Chair Lori Faulkner has won first place in the adult category at the state level of the Make It With Wool competition.

Faulkner’s winning design was a custom wool boucle suit lined in silk charmeuse and sewn using Coco Chanel’s couture construction method.

At the state level of the competition, the judges interviewed designers and evaluated their garments in terms of creativity, fit and construction.

Faulkner and the other state level winners will now move on the national Make it With Wool competition.
