News Bites: Digital Media Students, Faculty, and Alumni Nominated for Eclipse Awards

Posted April 29, 2015 in StudentFacultyAlumniNews BitesDigital Art and Design

Each year, the Eclipse Awards honor the best in West Michigan film and television, and once again KCAD’s Digital Media program has made its mark on the annual event.

The trailer for this year’s Grand Rapids Film Festival – produced by Digital Media professor Brad Yarhouse and created, directed, and animated by Digital Media students Alante Carpenter, Ed Kindsvater, Erica Syverson, Kate Flynn, and Nana Dong – has been nominated for an Eclipse Award in the Local/Regional Segments and Promotional Pieces category.

Meanwhile, Super! – a short animated film that follows the exploits of two art school freshman with hidden super powers – was nominated for an Eclipse Award in the Short Film category. Super! was scripted, animated, scored, and produced entirely by KCAD students, alumni, and faculty, so many in fact that they can’t all be listed here. Check out the film’s IMDB page for a complete list of those involved.

The 2015 Eclipse Awards will be held on May 7 at the Grand Rapids Art Museum. For more information, visit theeclipseaward.com
