Titled Wavelengths, the exhibition showcased Wyckoff’s site-responsive installation “undoing/becoming” alongside both drawings and prints she created on her own handmade paper.

The highly immersive “undoing/becoming” incorporates salt-dyed cheesecloth, at points dipping into pools of red salt water, with printed text that blends stories and phrases about love that Wyckoff has collected from philosophers, writers, and everyday people, as well as her own musings on love and empathy.

“Made of materials that will transform during the exhibition and made through research on loving, this work reminds us of the transitory nature of being,” Wyckoff wrote in her artist statement. “We often find ourselves in flux: our lives a series of undoings and becomings.”

While installing her work, Wyckoff also conducted a gallery talk in which she spoke to both KCAD and Aquinas College students about her process and approach to research.
