Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University (KCAD) alumnus James Suhr (’99, Illustration) and his fellow team members working on Disney Television Animation’s Wander Over Yonder series recently took home an Annie Award for Best Animated Television/Broadcast Production for Children.

The Annie Awards are the highest achievement in the field of animation, similar to the Oscars for film. This year marked the 43rd iteration of the awards.

Suhr, whose résumé includes work on the Universal Studios film Despicable Me, the Nickelodeon television series Kung-Fu Panda: Legend of Awesomeness, and the hit Disney television show Gravity Falls, currently works as a storyboard revisionist on Wander Over Yonder.

He and his team were honored for their work on an episode titled “The Breakfast,” a charming tale that follows a hero’s and a villain’s respective quests for the perfect breakfast. The episode was also nominated for an Annie award for Outstanding Achievement in Storyboarding in an Animated Television/Broadcast Production.
