Eliott Copier may be fresh off earning a degree in Industrial Design from KCAD in 2012, but he’s already making a name for himself. Copier works for American Seating and is a part of the design team responsible for Rely, a new collection of furniture geared for college classrooms that recently attracted a lot of attention at NeoCon 2014 in Chicago.

The collection was designed as a system of mobile and reconfigurable tables, white boards, and lecterns that can quickly adapt to the ever changing needs of the 21st century classroom. In addition to praise from NeoCon judges, Rely made Metropolis Magazine’s list of 38 top new products from the highly influential trade show.

One of the Industrial Design program’s more established alums, Joey Ruiter (’00), also made his mark. The Kai conference table and Tesano table he designed for NuCraft earned gold and silver awards, respectively, from the NeoCon judges, and the Kai table was also spotlighted by Metropolis.

Check out this article from Mlive that explores why Ruiter ranks as one of the best designers in the business.
