News Bites: Interior Design Student to Participate in HKS Design Fellowship Midwest
Interior Design senior Dawon Kim will travel to Detroit from March 6-9 to take part in a convergence of design talent for a great cause at the HKS Design Fellowship Midwest.
Sponsored by HKS Architects, the Design Fellowship Midwest is a yearly event that brings together undergraduate students and HKS employees from around the Midwestern United States in order to collaboratively design solutions that increase quality of life in local communities. It’s billed as a competition, but in reality everyone who participates in on the same big team, with the grand prize being helping others through design.
HKS holds three of these regional fellowships each year – one for the Midwest, one for the Mid-Atlantic, and one for the Southeast – as well as one on a national level. In all of these events, the goal is to nurture emerging design talent, stimulate new ideas, and raise the overall quality of design at HKS. For students like Dawon, it’s an incredible real-world learning experience and a chance to network and make connections that can spark new career opportunities.
