“Surreal Salon 8” features 60 of the best artists working in the United States today in the realm of pop-surrealism, a style of contemporary art that combines the bizarre dreamscapes of surrealism with the bold colors and figures of pop art.

According to the Baton Rouge Gallery website, the juror for this year’s exhibition, artist Elizabeth McGrath, had to choose just 60 pieces to be included out of an unprecedented 670 entries. One artwork from the exhibition will be chosen as Best in Show and will be featured prominently in an upcoming issue of Juxtapoz.

Ingold currently lives in Tampa, FL, where she practices art and teaches art classes the University of Tampa. She’s been garnering significant critical attention with her latest work, having shown in recent exhibitions at the Zhou B. Art Center in Chicago and Limner Gallery in New York City, among a number of others, and also has three of her pieces included in the forthcoming International Drawing Annual 10 publication from the prestigious Manifest Creative Research and Drawing Center.
