The exhibition, which is now in its 28th year, takes place each year at Valdosta State University in Georgia and is open to artists across the nation. Ingold was one of 42 artists selected for this year’s exhibition out of a pool of 115 applicants.

Artist Carrie Ann Baade, who served as the juror for this year’s exhibition, called Ingold’s winning piece “a masterpiece of narrative art” in her statement announcing the top prizes.

The win is the latest in a string of recent accomplishments for Ingold, who also won top honors in the recent Vying 2015 juried exhibition at Art Basel Miami.
