Through the theme of “Conflict Resolution,” the conference explored ways in which photography and art can portray and analyze conflict from a variety of different perspectives, from individual to global.

Kaczmarczyk, a professor in the Photography program, and Gose, an assistant professor in the Photography program, were selected through a juried process to present a paper titled “Walking on Eggshells: Fear of the Unspeakable in the Classroom.”

The presentation, which also featured Arthur Fields, an assistant professor at Vincennes University, touched on topics such as creating a comfortable classroom climate, diversity exercises, research tips and techniques, and an introduction to contemporary photographers who are grappling with race, gender, and identity in their work.
