Professor to Give Public Lecture on ??The Dinner Party ?

Suzanne Eberle, Art History Professor and Program Chair at Kendall College of Art and Design, will introduce participants to the fascinating art of Judy Chicago, whose monumental work ??The Dinner Party ? remains one of the most important examples of early contemporary art. In addition to exploring the subjects and processes of Chicago ??s work, Professor Eberle will also discuss how Chicago ??s ideas reflect late 20th century art practices such as historical referencing, collaborative production and feminist theory. Professor Eberle ??s lecture is scheduled on Thursday, April 1, 2010, 7:30 pm at the Grand Rapids Public Library Main Branch, 111 Library St. NE in downtown Grand Rapids. This event is free and open to the public.
