Kendall College of Art and Design of Ferris State University’s 2023 Student Art Market offers West Michigan shoppers a chance to discover unique and creative holiday gifts while directly supporting the talents of local art and design students.

Visitors are welcome to shop the market on Thursday, Nov. 30, from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on the KCAD campus, located at 17 Fountain St. NW in downtown Grand Rapids.

The Student Art Market will feature a wide range of handmade goods, including paintings, illustration prints, stickers, holiday cards, crocheted stuffies, and more. More than 20 student vendors and registered student organizations are participating in this year’s market.

"We're delighted to offer this unique experience," said Nicole Dekraker, KCAD director of Student Engagement. "It's a showcase of our students' talents and a chance for our community to find special gifts with a direct impact on the next generation of creatives."

A collaboration between KCAD Student Council and The Spark, KCAD’s creative retail store, ensures that participating students and student organizations retain 100 percent of the proceeds from their sales.

Student organizations use the proceeds to support professional development opportunities such as travel to conferences, membership in professional associations, hosting guest speakers, and transportation costs to visit museums, galleries, and design firms.
