About

Mary Ellen Fritz is an Instructor for Kendall College of Art and Design; full-time and adjunct since 1996. She has been a practicing interior designer since 1990, working with firms like Progressive AE, Schemata, Inc. and WBDC. Experienced in a broad range of commercial design, projects include worship, retail banking, healthcare, workplace and hospitality with a focus educational/institutional design. Clients include Steelcase, 5/3 Bank, Aquinas College, Grand Rapids Public Schools, and Grand Rapids Community College. She served on the Council for Interior Design Accreditation Board of Visitors for 10 years. She currently owns an interior design consulting firm, specializing in residential and small-scale commercial projects. She is N.C.I.D.Q. certified and holds a B.F.A. in Interior Design from KCAD, as well as a B.A. in Psychology and a B.A. in Women’s Studies from the University of Michigan.
