KCAD Geofilter Designs for Snapchat

Have you wanted a KCAD geofilter to use when you're on Snapchat? We want you to help us design these geofilters!

Who can participate?

We are asking current KCAD students and KCAD alumni to create and design the first set of KCAD-themed geofilters. Once those designs are submitted, we are asking the public to vote for their favorite designs to be submitted to Snapchat!

How do I submit my design?

Submissions for this contest will be open starting on August 26, 2016 at 12:00am and will be closed on September 9, 2016 at 11:59pm (EST). You must also include a copy of the “Snapchat Geofilter Design Contest Rules/Waiver," found on the left sidebar. Submissions can be emailed to [email protected]. Up to five (5) designs per person may be submitted.

Submission Guidelines

Designs must be relevant to KCAD must be visually compelling
You must follow Snapchat's Design Guidelines found here
All graphics must be 100% original
    No photographs or hashtags

What happens after I submit my design?

Once the submissions have been received, the top designs (selected by a panel of KCAD faculty and staff) will be revealed to the KCAD community and the community will vote for their favorite design!

How do people vote for their favorite design?

KCAD will share a survey that the public can use to vote for their favorite design (one vote per person). The two designs with the most likes will win! This survey will be shared on the college’s social media accounts, the college’s website, and in the KCAD Daily.

What happens if I win?

The designers of the winning entries will be notified via email. A formal announcement will be published to the college’s website and shared on the college’s social media accounts once the winners are notified. Each winner will receive a KCAD swag package and will have his or her winning designs submitted to Snapchat for approval to become the first geofilters for the college!

The competition is sponsored by the Office of Student Engagement and the Communications Department.

Note: Snapchat has strict guidelines for submitting geofilters; Snapchat may not accept the design on the first submission. If Snapchat does not approve the design, the college’s Communications Department will work with the designer to meet Snapchat’s geofilter brand standards.
